Why did I get involved?

The short answer is that I understand how close everyone is to becoming homeless.

If you can read a few more lines, you will be surprised........

In the middle of my life, I decided to quit my secure, well-paid job in order to have more time for family, leisure and exercise. I took a job with a government agency as a technical specialist and I enjoyed a quieter everyday life with the possibility of training during working hours (1 hour/week).

Unfortunately, I made a mistake and did not join the union or the unemployment fund, which was a mistake now - with hindsight.I have always been showered with superlatives, but after two years I got a direct feedback - that I didn't fit in. Without going into exact details, the employer and I came to an agreement, which both parties accepted

I started looking for new jobs, but since it was new to me, I turned to Arbetsförmedlingen and found a programming course in Java: Perfect! After a number of tests, I was accepted into this course along with more than 20 other students. It was a tough schedule, where during 4 months we went through Java Fundamentals, Java EE, Wildfly, Spring, MySQL, jQuery, Javascript, HTML5 & CSS. After a 2.5 hour exam, I passed and got the certification, Oracle Certified Associate Java SE 8. A confirmation of my hard work and a conclusion of this learning. Along with my training, I was supposed to get an internship and finally I was assigned an internship position.

Yes. As I was linked to the Swedish Public Employment Service, I reported my training for the first time in early April. Försäkringskassan was quick to inform me that there was no basis for payment, which of course there was. A few weeks later I received a confirmation letter from Arbetsförmedlingen, telling me that I had not had an approved internship. Someone in the context (not me) had missed something, but the Employment Service denied me retroactive compensation (which I later appealed). So, the bottom line was that March gave no compensation, but for April I received a full 1115 SEK before tax (lowest level 220:- per day). You see, should I continue? I get the information, that the worst thing is not that I have been without compensation, but that I have been TOTALLY uninsured at my internship, which is illegal in Sweden. Now with my certification behind me, I am applying for various jobs as a Java developer, but all require 3-5 years of experience.I have since continued to submit applications in various roles, but have now recently become more and more involved in Hair & Brains.
